Education and Background
After graduating from Cajon High School as a Salutorian, Dr. David Nguyen began the journey towards his medical career at the University of California Riverside as a biomedical student. He was chosen among the top 1% of the class to complete an accelerated 7-years-undergraduate-medical school program. After receiving his M.D from UCR/UCLA in 1996, he trained at University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville in general surgery and completed a full 5-year residency. In search for a rounded education, he did two fellowships in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery at SUNY Brooklyn, New York and then at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pennsylvania, where he established himself as one of the premier aesthetic and body contour specialist. With his interested in microsurgery and hand surgery, he enrolled in the Combined Orthopedic & Plastic Hand MicroSurgery Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He has been known among his colleagues as the most technically gift surgeon.
Dr. Nguyen has involved in missionary service with the SurgiCorp, a team of plastic surgeons who offer reconstructive surgery services to impoverished children in Vietnam.
Double Board-certification
Dr. Nguyen is certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
